Discipline

Discipline is not a restriction but an aid to freedom.
It prepares an artist to choose his own limitations...

Oh yes this is so true. I love the painting.

Glad you like it.
I think as much as in the past the problem was to gain freedom, today the main problem is to find ourselves in it. I sometimes see the art of today like a headless giant, lost and trapped in seductive anarchy of our new ultimate freedoms.

Hi Thinker,
I agree with you.
In Art school they tell you: do whatever you want, don't care about anything, be as free as possible... So, I learnt how to draw somewhere else. And, anyway, true Freedom is an intimate feeling, it cannot be taught.

Yes, freedom means choice, and choice means responsibility. And no one can know what is the right choice but you.
I think that many of today's artists, and people in general are not taking freedom seriously enough.
