A carpet made of dreams

But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

A dream is more powerful than any diamond. Only dreams can make one rich. Or, at least, dreams make me a rich and lucky one.

I agree, dreams are the maps of our hearts and i guess only without them we are truly lost, poor and hopeless.
I like the idea of spreading dreams under somebody's feet, i think that is what artists do. And also the idea of walking on a dream, when somebody observes a sculpture he is walking around it, it is like a stroll through a dream that artist shared with the rest of the world.

This beautiful quote takes me back to school days when we were studying for exams. We would sit under the Jacaranda tree because if a blossom fell on your head it was good luck. The ground around the tree would be blue with all the blossoms and whenever I approached the bench where my friend sat, studying she would say "Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

I like the story. That really is wonderful, when a poem or a quote brings back the old memories.
