Silence

I catch the pattern
Of your silence
Before you speak.

I do not need
To hear a word.

In your silence
Every tone I seek
Is heard.

Langston Hughes

Love the poem. One catches many nuances in silence.

This is one of those poems where I wonder what 'silence' other think of when they read it... you bring your own baggage into the poem if you know what I mean.

I like that thought, we really bring our own baggage into some poems. I've always liked this kind of poetry and art in general, in which the poet leaves the poem opened in a way, and invites you in.
