Ever try really looking at someone you've known a long time? Sometimes its surprising how different they look from what you thought.

I agree, we develop a habit of seeing things, and that habit often is a huge delusion.
Keeping our vision fresh is one of the most important things in art, we should always look at things and people as we did the first time.
