From a poem

I shut my eyes and all the world drops dead;
I lift my lids and all is born again.
(I think I made you up inside my head.)

'I think I made you up inside my head.' and this happens so often. Sometimes the idea of the real is better than the real. Although, there are so many good surprises and the real is often much better, it's just a question of looking again and under a different light, I guess.

Yes, in our heads we often transform something real into a dream, we make things up. Like in a quote from another poem, by Robert Desnos: "I have dreamed of you so much that you are no longer real."
I guess we have to pay attention to our dreams as much as we pay attention to reality.
