A quote from a movie

Bad art is more tragically beautiful than good art because it documents human failure.

This is a nice idea for a blog!
Short quotes on art.
You must be an artist too, somehow, or you wouldn't be doing this...
What is your opinion, what do you think about the quotes you post? Do you agree with them all?

I like M. de Goncourt's quote very much: "A painting in a museum hears more ridiculous opinions than anything else in the world."
I tend to think that people who look at paintings without saying anything are the ones that are most likely to understand them. Never trust someone who's trying to make you see something in a painting! Especially if there are -ism words in thei speech ;)

Thank you, Cécile! I'm glad you like the blog. You are right, i am an artist, a sculptor.
The thing i like about quotes is how one sentence can be a powerful call for meditation. I do not agree with them all, but i like a quote striking enough to get me thinking..
My plan for this blog was that i post a quote and then we discuss it, so thanks for sharing your impressions! Goncourt's quote is one of my favorites, and i agree with you. In front of a painting we are invited to a nonverbal communication with it, words are so inappropriate...
I hope i will see you here again soon.
